Joyful Dim Sum Bistro - Fremont

The staff was the best part, very friendly and helpful. The food was good. Loved the sesame balls and pork buns. Prices were average. Environment was underrated, but clean.

Joyful Dim Sum offers delicious homemade dim sum in a cozy and casual setting, perfect for takeout. The service during our dine-in experience was friendly and efficient. We sampled a variety of items including Har Gow, Shu Mai, Xiao Long Bao, baked pork buns, and shrimp/chive dumplings. Each dish was clearly crafted with skill, featuring thin and fresh wrappers. Customers can also purchase frozen dim sum to steam at home or baked buns to enjoy later. The standout item was the pork buns with a touch of honey drizzled on top.

This small dim sum restaurant has a few tables for seating and a good variety of items on the menu. If you choose to dine in, you can help yourself to free tea. We tried har gow, black sesame dumplings, wontons in chili oil sauce, pan fried pork and vegetable buns, pan fried turnip cake, and crispy glutinous puffs. The har gow had a good amount of filling and the skin was just right. The turnip cake was well-seasoned with delicious bits of Chinese sausage. The puffs were crispy, though a bit oily, and the meat filling was tasty. Unfortunately, the black sesame dumplings had a grittier texture than expected. The chili wontons lacked spice, and the pork and vegetable buns were a bit bland. Overall, the quality was decent for the price, and we would return to try more items on the menu if we are in the area.

This small dim sum place in the Mission area of Fremont is fantastic. Offering solid quality, amazing flavors, and reasonable prices, it's my go-to spot. I always indulge in their har gow, sui mai, and chili oil dumplings – they're a must-try!

We love the Hong Kong milk tea chicken feet, fried taro, sticky rice and beef balls. Hargow, siumai, were just so so. Nice little place and people.I saw a picture of a variety box but they didn't have that anymore.Closed Tuesday. Affordable and good to take out.
