Bidra med feedbackI've been to Rita's many times and have always enjoyed the Italian ice and customer service however that was not the case this time. 1. I ordered 2 Italian ices. The first was Green Apple and Caramel. The second was a Root beer Gelati. The flavors for both were incorrect. I ground streaks of watermelon (red coloring) throughout my Green Apple. The Root beer was extremely light in color, compared to its normal dark brown and tasted like cardboard. 2. The employee was on the phone. He had air pods in and at least acknowledged us but continued his conversation with the person on the phone while we ordered. 3. We were not offered a receipt and were not able to check what we paid for. Somewhere along the lines of $14.XX. 4. The Lobby had a loud buzzing sound and the lights were very dim. (It reminded me of a shady liquor store). I only recommend the Santa Clara Location as they are clean and consistent, even though the staff is almost exclusively college students. I do wish that the Fremont location improves, I would hate to have to drive to Santa Clara to buy Rita's again.
What a ... strange chocolate custard flavor. It almost tasted fruity. Vanilla wasn't very good either. If you have been to Freddy's, this place doesn't hold up to that. I'm not sure if I'll come back just based on the custard. I haven't tried the Italian ice, so maybe that's redeeming for here.
Goodbye ice cream, say hello to custard! Frozen custard is nice change from your typical ice cream. It's similar to soft serve but more creamy and thick. The custard goes really well with shaved ice or just by itself on a cone. If you do find the custard too creamy (I don't personally), highly suggest getting it with Italian ice because it balances it out a bit. Recently discovered their custard concretes which is their version of a McFlurry! There's also options to take home custard to save for later, my favorite option is their Oreo cookie custard sandwich! They also have nutter butter peanut butter custard sandwiches if you prefer peanut butter over Oreos. Overall good dessert place!
Nothing like a Frozen Custard on a warm day or just for a treat. The staff is incredibly friendly and the treats are a delight. We will be back.
CLOSED. Went by on 4.15.22 and interior was empty and sign on wall above entrance had been painted out. Lock box on door. Sad to see it go
