Bidra med feedbackI used to frequently visit Sala Thai 2 and loved it, but the pandemic and rising inflation have really affected the restaurant. During the pandemic, I remember that takeout orders were piling up, so I was confident that the quality would remain good. However, things have changed since they reopened for dining in. Now, meals are served on paper plates and in to-go containers. There's also a large water dispenser with plastic cups in the center of the restaurant, giving it more of a takeout vibe than a dine-in experience. Portion sizes have noticeably shrunk as well. I haven't been back since the service change, particularly because I no longer enjoy the dining atmosphere. It appears they are currently closed but plan to reopen on April 1, 2023. I hope that when they do reopen, they will return to the level of service they provided before the pandemic. As for the food, here’s what I tried: - **Angel Wings:** These are deep-fried boneless chicken wings stuffed with ground chicken, silver noodles, carrots, and shiitake mushrooms. I really enjoyed the flavor and how meaty they tasted—something I haven't encountered in other Thai restaurants. If you’ve had something similar elsewhere, please let me know so I can try it! - **Chicken Larb:** I appreciated the option to adjust the spice level. The Larb was flavorful without being overly spicy. - **Tom Yum Soup:** This soup was packed with seafood and mushrooms. You can order it in a bowl or as a larger portion, which is enough to serve about four people. - **Panang Curry:** This curry tastes fantastic when paired with either white rice or roti. It’s thick and creamy, making it a delicious choice.
As for fried rice, they have a variety—basil, chicken, beef, or crab. The Pad Thai is just right, not overly sweet, with a lovely light and slightly sour flavor. Other favorites of mine include the aubergine chicken, Tom yum soup, Larb, and drunken noodles. I could go on and on about the menu! I've been here so many times, and the prices are very reasonable. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it's definitely worth it for the delicious food.
Avoid this place !!! This place is a disaster ! I've come here for so many years when it was pretty good . Now it's a shabby completely self service place that is poorly maintained ! They don't even k ow what's in their dishes and what's not. That's a huge disadvantage for strict vegetarians. This place will probably close anytime soon.
I can't believe this happened and yet, I can. I called at 11 to place a to go order and the guy who answered only said it'd be 20 mins. Well this place is a bit out of my route to work but I really needed lunch, was craving the other Sala Thai, and thought I'd leave asap and still have time to make it to work. Yeaaaaa..... 11:20 am the lady inside tells me it's cash only as their machine is down. I ask why this wasn't told to me when I called literally 20 mins ago and she said they were till trying to fix it. So you thought (1) everyone just walks around with cash all the time and/or (2) it's ok to waste someone's time and take ZERO accountability. Had the guy told me they were having problems and to bring cash just in case, I wouldn't have placed the order nor gone out of my way to this place, NOR been late to work. This place won't ever be affected by single 1 star reviews like mine but I won't be coming to this location ever again. Run by morons who don't know how to be accountable for their errors.
The food is delicious, and I really appreciate the way they treat their customers. I hope they enhance the ambiance for their guests in the future.
