Bidra med feedbackThis is most definitely NOT what a Grilled Cheese should look/taste like (See attached photo). What an embarrassment. Warmed cheese on hamburger buns?!? Get the Ef out of here. The smoked sampler was sort of OK. Great Potato Salad and fries. But that's about the only highlight. Won't be coming back.
$0.94 cents each for a cup of water. That should have been the first sign but I laughed it off as a tourist fee. No soap in the men's bathroom and watered down soap in the women's room. I wasn't sure if that was done by staff or a desperate lady trying to eek out some cleanliness. That should have been sign #2. 3rd, we asked to sit outside, and our server cleared off a few ant covered plates from the picnic table to make room for us, but not every plate mind you. The disgusting part is that between two servers stopping by a few times, neither of then cleared the rest of the table at any point during our meal and the ants just kept rolling in! Also, this was comical but our female server's underwear was hanging out of her pants. That's inappropriate regardless of gender. I love supporting small business but the food was sub par and I honestly don't think they would pass a health inspection. Skip it and try somewhere else if you want to keep your appetite.
Please do NOT stop here expecting good or even mediocre bbq! I stopped here for lunch after hiking. We were totally fooled by the unique facade and the smell of wood burning in the grill out front. We order the half mesquite chicken with coleslaw and baked beans. The chicken was half a rotisserie chicken that was warmed up, but it was not even warmed up all the way through. The breast was cold! The 2 sides were completely forgettable. I honestly do not think they make the food but just warm it up a little and slather some bbq sauce from a tub. Spare yourself and your taste buds and go to another place nearby that has much better food.
The food was terrible. After hiking all day we were starving and this place was conveniently located across from the train station parking lot. It smelt great walking in but we were the only customers so that should've been a red flag. The food was something I would expect in a government cafeteria.
Should've read reviews before going here... We were famished from our hike and ready for a quick hearty lunch. This place was packed with one waitress and one chef. It took forever to get our order and then another 45 minutes to get our food. The food was greasy, seemed frozen and just heated up, and over priced. Harper's Ferry has the worst food I've ever seen... And eaten. If we ever go back we'll bring deli meat and crackers. I'd rather eat that than any of these restaurants.
