Carl Ernie's - Iowa City

My friend and I had a great late lunch at Carl Ernie's! They offer a reverse happy hour from 2 PM to 6 PM, with the restaurant staying open until 10 PM every day. During this time, you can enjoy $2.50 well drinks, $2.50 domestic beer bottles, and $3.50 domestic drafts! We both treated ourselves to a cold Miller Lite alongside some delicious sliders. The slider platter came with one of each: a burger slider, a meatball sub slider, a roasted chicken slider (we went with the mango habanero sauce), and a pulled pork slider. The fries were fantastic—crispy and flavorful. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and we will definitely be returning!

The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is even better! It's a very cozy spot with fantastic beverage specials.

We call it Bert and Ernie because we were there so many times. Great atmosphere especially for Cardinals fans. Food is at the high end of the bar food, good quality and healthy portions. Good service sometimes better with long-term staff. It's a college town. Drinks are made as ordered. The money can't go wrong. It has the Big 10 College atmosphere right outside the hustle and bustle of the city. Take a beer and enjoy
