Hy-vee Market Grille Express

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the customer service. A young blonde woman, whose name started with an "M," was very rude and unhelpful. When I asked to purchase a few dollars in quarters, she refused to assist me. Her demeanor was so unpleasant that I decided to leave without my groceries. I ended up going to another chain where I was able to get quarters and received much better customer service. Overall, I think she would do better working in the back rather than interacting with customers.

I visited the restaurant during my lunch hour today and ended up waiting 25 minutes for a burger and fries. I sat at a table that had a sign indicating it was sanitized, but it was clear from the crumbs on the surface that it hadn't been cleaned. The women's restroom was in terrible condition. When I asked to speak with a manager, their customer service was so poor that I can confidently say I will never return to this establishment again.

I’m honestly surprised that this Hy-Vee has such a high rating. Their prices are higher than other stores in town, and their selection is quite limited. They are also reluctant to special order products, even if you offer to purchase an entire case. The presence of the orange guard makes me feel unsafe, so I avoid shopping there altogether. Most of their bakery items are subpar; while the donuts, French and Italian bread, and angel food cake are decent, their cakes rank among the worst I've ever tasted. The muffins, brownies, and cookies are just okay. You’d be better off baking at home or heading to the co-op for baked goods. Additionally, their vegetarian and vegan options are very disappointing.

A large Hy Vee with a florist and a liquor store. Patronage is mixed race, mostly black and white, working class and mostly young late 20s 30s with kids. Employees are fine, bad for a Hy Vee, but average for a grocery store. Expect average customer service. Good prices, as you would expect from a Hy Vee. Large parking lot.

I couldn't have asked for anything more. Everything was fantastic, from the ordering process to the meal itself. I've never had a negative experience at this restaurant.
