Souper Tang City Square - Johor Bahru

The mushroom dish at this restaurant is amazing, and the soup is always delicious. We ordered the promo set for two, which included a 1-for-1 deal on the Buddha Jump Over the Wall dish, all for a reasonable price of RM181.80. It was definitely worth it.

Despite lacking in certain areas (such as a dedicated waitress for orders and pickups at the counter, and one for serving food), the staff at this restaurant made an effort to provide good service. They warned us about a 45-minute wait time, and even offered to bring out dessert first. We agreed, and were pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the soup. While the vegetables were overly salty, the pork belly with yam dish improved in flavor as it continued to cook on the table and the ingredients melded together.

Souper Tang offers delicious food, but as others have mentioned, it is currently underrated. The mushroom soup is flavorful and creamy. The hot and sour soup is not as tasty, and the cordyceps overpowers it. The signature Stone Pot Rice is really delicious and enjoyable!

Very similar experiences as all other contributions. slow and inexperienced staff. but given the circumstances, everything is good. shortage of work caused by covid. so long food is good, and they are not consciously rude, I am happy.

Food is tasty but definitely on the pricier side. Most of their staff are not chinese so ordering can be a little difficult at times. Service is slow and sometimes rude. Be careful when they give you side dishes that you didnt order as those are chargeable.
