Maayo - Mandaue City

The food at the restaurant on the top floor was pleasant, but I wasn’t blown away by it. My biggest disappointment, however, occurred during breakfast. When I picked up a slice of bread and placed it in the toaster, two cockroaches emerged from the bread. I didn’t want to cause a scene, so I discreetly informed the server at the counter, who came over to check the situation. He confirmed the presence of the cockroaches, but I was taken aback that nobody apologized to me. When it came time to pay for breakfast, I expected them to replace the bread, but it was the same bread that remained! Aside from the cockroach incident at breakfast, the food was generally good.

We had a fantastic experience in both the hotel rooms and the event venue! The delicious food and comfortable accommodations were truly impressive. The staff, particularly Miss Jeanette Coremo, made a significant impact on our event planning. Her support was invaluable in bringing our vision to life. You can't go wrong with Maayo Hotel. We always look forward to staying at this hotel whenever we visit Cebu. The location is absolutely perfect—super close to the airport, which is a huge plus, and conveniently close to a shopping centre where you can easily grab some snacks and water. For anyone heading north, this hotel is ideally situated and offers easy access. The hotel itself is really charming. The décor has this cool local vibe, which we love, and the rooftop pool is just the cherry on top—perfect for unwinding. As for breakfast, it was delicious, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was impressive. There was just one little thing that could use some improvement. On our first morning, we decided to eat breakfast at the hotel, but we hadn't included it in our room booking. Since we didn’t have cash on hand, we asked if they could charge it to our room, given that we were staying for several more days. But after breakfast, as we were about to hit the pool, I kept getting calls from both the breakfast staff and the receptionist, reminding me to come down and pay. It was a bit frustrating since we weren’t planning on leaving anytime soon. With a bit of tweaking to how they handle these kinds of transactions, this place would be perfect. We’ll definitely be returning on our next trip to Cebu. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Cebu.
