Bidra med feedbackSpending a recent weekend in Margaret River we were delighted to discover Temper Temper off the Busssell Highway.. Our friends recommended this little chocolate trove and we were not disappointed. Although small this place punches above its weight in the chocolate stakes amongst it's larger competitor. A family business, the owners take time to explain the nuances between the different varieties of cocoa bean and the selection of ingredients from chilli, nuts, ginger, etc which make some very distinctive chocolate.Thoroughly recommend a visit to this little gem1
Just visited here. A huge array of chocolates, with some really different centers and flavours. We bought and tried milk chocolate rose Turkish delight with pistachio, and dark chocolate blueberry balls. Divine. Personally I love this place much more than The Margaret River Chocolate factory. Make a visit to Temper it's worth it!!
This little place is a real chocolate experience. They have on offer 10 varieties of single origin chocolate to taste ( not just the boring white, milk and dark) with extensive information on each, plus other products to taste. In addition there is a very informative video playing showing where the cocoa beans come from. Additionally you can order in or take out hot drinks including their deviné hot chocolates. My husband and I cycled here from North of Margaret River, using the rails for Trails, and enjoyed an hour tasting and exploring this delightful little place. The hot chocolates and coffee gave us the energy to get back on our bikes in nasty wet and windy weather. The only (very small) complaint about this place is that they need a bigger sign on the rails for trails track. We accidentally missed their tiny sign and went an extra 1 &1/2 km out of town. Temper Temper is in fact a nice walking distance from town along Rails for Trails- a good way to burn off the calories you will consume there!
If you are in Margaret River you must call in and try not only the chocolate but also the hot chocolate drink (the best ever)!
Temper Temper opened last year in the space which used to be occupied by coffee roasters Yahava. With a huge opening season, Temper Temper has drawn a regular local and travel crowd, who come in to snap up thier handmade chocolates and enjoy a nice coffee, sandwich or raw treat in the relaxed cafe while kids run around on the lawns outside. Located off of one of the main roads in the Margaret River area, Temper Temper is one unique, understated spot to add to your itinerary on any trip down South.Owner Roz explained to us the meaning behind the Temper Temper name- which is based on the tempering process of heating the cocoa to ensure that the chocolate does not separate, maintains a shine and has that nice snap texture. Sourced from sustainable farms around the equator, Temper Temper uses the finest cacao to make up each of its chocolate treats. We loved the peppercorn, salted caramel, dipped figs and a lot more. Temper Temper are very creative with their choices- there is even a vegemite chocolate option. Do not miss the DIY hot chocolates and expect to be greeted by very down to earth, friendly locals.
