Chinese Garden Restaurant - MOONAH

We have been coming to this restaurant for years to dine in or take out meals. The food is always consistently delicious and the service is friendly.

I'm not sure why hipsters are chasing after smashed avocado when they should try the authentic 1970s Australian/Chinese cuisine at this restaurant. Despite its traditional menu, the food here is really good, with delicious dishes like beef and black bean, cashew chicken, and sweet and sour pork. The decor may be a bit dated since it was established in the 1970s, but the food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The chefs at Chinese Garden really know how to cook up a meal that people enjoy.

When looking at the restaurant from the outside, you may have doubts, but once you taste the food, you will never question it. The shrimp, Mongolian beef, and roasted rice were fantastic. The honey chicken was okay. The BBQ pork was sensational. Overall, a great little find.

Best curried prawns ever! never had a disappointing eating from this restaurant I always buy takeaway, but if I go to dinner in the future, I will be here. it was a lot of fantasies expensive place to look with disappointing eating. very friendly...we can't let them be fooled by the look of the place, the best eat does not need a beautiful environment. these are the best Chinese I found in the Hobart region in the 20 years I lived here.

Firstly I can't believe the reviews here. The food here is very average, serving are good size but all their sauces taste the same, all the sauces were thickened with too much cornflour, including the chicken and sweet corn soup. I had the $35 a...head banquet so I had a good chance to try a few different dishes. The host was friendly and the food came out fast, there was one other couple eating in and quite a few takeaway orders being picked up. The best part was that they sold cans of soft drinks for $2-50 each. I have yet to find a really good chinese restaurant in Tasmania, I have had plenty of recommendations but always leave disappointed. This place is not the worst but still very average.
