Schlesinger's Chop House - Newport News

Went for our anniversary in May 2022 and the food was exceptional. The atmosphere is intimate and quiet while maintaining the steady flow of customers. The staff is very friendly and helpful when suggesting menu items and pairings.

Food was good, but not quite amazing. They dad a dry aged ny strip as special, and while it was good, it wasn 't the best dry aged that I 've had, which is a lot. Drink was tasty. Tomato pepper jack soup was good, but mostly tasted like eating Tomato sauce for pasta, which isn 't really soup . It was a nice place overall though.

I visited this restaurant on September 28th for my mom?s birthday. I totally forgot to upload our entrées, but we both had steaks. I had a ribeye and my mom had a petite steak. I did order some onion rings and they had a good flavor but were a little greasy. Overall, nice restaurant and I would visit again.

We have been here 3 times and every time they have not disappointed! This last time we visited it was for my husbands 30 year mark in the military and they made this card up just for him! They go above and beyond! Their steaks and lamb (all we have ordered) has always been fantastic! Mark has been our server twice and has been kind and attentive! Definitely recommend this place for a party, event, romantic evening or just for a great dinner!

Sunday brunch is magnificent! The customer service is great, and the food (especially the meats) were delightfully savory! I most enjoyed the desserts (pictured) ? very light, great options not overly sweet!
