Bidra med feedbackThe menu only offered vegetarian options, and I did not see any vegan dishes available. While it was easy to modify a few dishes, my server was helpful and polite, the restaurant did not live up to the expectation of being vegan-friendly as I was led to believe by friends. I opted for the 5 grain bowl without eggs, and it was quite tasty. However, the portion size was smaller compared to other items on the menu.
I tried the Tofu Scramble and it was absolutely delicious! The waiter provided excellent service. The coffee was great and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
I really enjoy this restaurant as a non-vegan, but for those who are vegan, there are limited options available. I decided to try the Tofu Scramble, which unfortunately was a bit bland. However, the potatoes were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely, and I appreciate the charm of the old house it is located in.
So I officially tried all vegan options at the Sabrina's Cafe. The veggie burger immediately fell apart and was not even good enough to justify his craft just to find that it is not even vegan (see other reviews). The tofu tastes like overcooked mushrooms and polystyrene with one side of cubes potato pulp Homefries. And finally, the philly cheese steak (designated as a light meal that costs the same as any other item on the menu) served without taste, one side of soggy sweet potato friries and, get this, a dirty dish with uncooked scrap. No respect for the kitchen much less the vegan population. Last time, I'll ever walk in this creepy restaurant / college commons.
I ordered the veggie burger which was clearly labeled vegan. Halfway through my meal , the server informed me they the sauce contained milk and that the bun was made with butter. I felt sick. As someone who’s vegan and sensitive to lactose, to eat something that contains dairy made me emotionally and physically sick. I had informed the server beforehand that I was vegan , 3 times! Online , it states the veggie burger can be made vegan by removing the brioche bun. None of this was stated on the menu , plus the sauce isn’t vegan and nothing suggested that it would contain dairy. Unacceptable and horribly disappointed in my experience.
