Family Hotel Port Pirie

I came to this restaurant looking forward to trying their famous chicken, but I decided to give their ribs a try. Unfortunately, I was disappointed as there was very little meat on the bones. My dog could have easily sniffed out more meat than what was on those ribs. Stick to the chicken next time.

The restaurant was recommended by a local and we found the staff to be very friendly. The food was delicious and we enjoyed both our evening meal and breakfast the next morning.

I had a pleasant dining experience with a wide variety of drinks available. The menu was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We visited the fam hotel for dinner when they stay overnight in the caravan park. this pub is a heritage two etagen building, beautifully restored, with a beautiful caffe on the street level on the front and pub/bar area behind. there is a large seating area in. a lateral walkway and beer garden on the back with heating. we showed up on Tuesday night to find that there were 2 meal times for the price of one! what a bonus! (but very busy) on this particular night they also had a very large birthday booking in the beer garden and the meal was running very late, but the staff came to us at least four times to apologize for the waiting. they have supplied us free of charge with bruschetta. When our meal came, they were excellent. we could not mistake the service and support of the employees. well worth the stop.

After stopping for morning T/A coffee we returned with puppy for tea; over two nights. Mosquitos are deadly, food and staff are great. If you are on limited time it would pay to check with them first. Our first night saw a substantial wait...due to a large group, our 2nd night was very quick as again a large group but a set menu so casual diners more quickly served. Well worth a visit. Thumbs up
