Bidra med feedbackPretty decent dim sum. Drove up from the 757 area to try this place. Food came out hot and fresh. The xiao long bao and the cold noodles were the highlights for me. The pan fried baozi skin was a little too thick. And the pig ears were tasteless and under seasoned. They tasted only of the chili oil that they were tossed with. Definitely willing to give it another try and try some other dishes.
The star of the show here is the soup dumplings, which are big, flavorful, and a joy to eat! I came in around 5pm on a Tuesday as a solo diner and was seated immediately; plenty of empty tables, though there were a decent number of people by the time I left. I also got the salt and pepper squid, which was crisp and golden, but a little lacking in flavor: I would have appreciated a bit more salt, and perhaps some hot peppers, as I've had with the dish elsewhere. By far the best Chinese restaurant in DMV. Their XLBs are incredible and other dumpling dishes are great too. Dan dan noodle and fried rice were also delicious. I don?t think I ever had any bad food from here. They don?t accept any credit cards and really busy during the weekend dinner time. Highly recommended!
My favorite place in DMV for soup dumplings!! While they are all good, my favorite one is the Crab and Pork XLB Soup Dumplings. Spicy ?Cheng-Du? Chicken and the Spicy Wontons are delicious as well. Service is great and food comes out relatively fast, minus the soup dumplings, those take a bit of time. This place is always packed!
The soup dumplings were kinda dry and rough on the outside. The flavor was pretty good but they definitely aren?t worth the hype. Several of the staff lacked basic manners. The bill for my friend and I came out to a $49.59 and the employee wouldn?t let us split the bill because there was a ?$50 minimum? to split the bill. I understand that she?s not the one that created the rules, but she should have offered a bit of leniency given that we were only a few cents under.
