Michael's St. Augustine

Went with my Mom for her birthday dinner while on vacation. Our service was top of the line, and only matched by the insanely delicious food! We had a wonderful time!

Great wine list. Better food! If you leave this place unhappy, it's your own fault. Fabulous! Parking: St. Augustine has to get their share.

My family of 4 had high expectations Friday evening about Michael's based on reviews. We discovered this is more of a wine bar that serves food. While the restaurant atmosphere was intimate, with an extensive wine selection, be prepared for out-of-stocks and the majority of the wines were priced above $200 a bottle. It is not a fine dining experience. The service was slow, our meals were hit or miss, and they only serve beer and wine, not cocktails. The website is misleading because it indicates they serve alcohol, beer and wine. Service was good up until after our appetizers were served. Then it took an additional 45 minutes for our entrees to be served. The flatiron steak tasted good and was cooked to temperature, the swordfish was lackluster; no seasoning and dry, the steak Diane tasted OK but was overdone, and the chicken and Plantain cassolet had good flavor although the chicken was tough.

Michael's was a superb experience all around. I would go back there in a second. In fact I will. Thanks for the really great service and outstanding food. A standout in St. Augustine.
