Bidra med feedbackWe were looking for a Chinese buffet with fewer crowds, but I should have considered the lack of customers as a warning sign. I was hoping that China King would be comparable to City Buffet in the southeast of San Antonio, but it was not. It seems like almost anyone can run a Chinese buffet, as the dishes are often pre-cooked off-site and reheated at the restaurant. However, at China King, most of the dishes tasted the same because they were all reheated in the same sauce and served in the same dishes. I won't go into detail about what I ate, but it was either lukewarm or difficult to eat. Even the cocktail sauce reminded me of watered-down ketchup. My wife tried the hot and sour soup, which was difficult to mess up, but even that was lacking in flavor. We noticed a sign on every table warning customers not to waste food or risk being charged extra, which made us feel uncomfortable. Overall, we were not impressed with the quality of the food or the service at China King.
The dining experience was awful. The only option available was a buffet, but we only managed to take two bites before giving up. The boiled fish was mushy and unappetizing. The mushrooms tasted like they had been washed with a cleaning solution, and the dessert was bland and lacked any flavor. Even the drinks were off. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the food to the staff, but they didn't even want to take our money.
My family and I just got in from our vacation and Decided to go here to eat at 7pm, to only find that the food that had been on the line had not been changed out for hours. When we asked were the fresh food was at, their response was that they are closing at 9pm. They only put out a little bit of food! Mind you it’s Spring break and people are still coming in to eat dinner. Very rude manager that didn’t want to listen to my husband nor my son’s response to what was going on with the food. Plus other customers were complaining as well. We will not be coming back to this place. I honestly wish that we had stopped at Asian Star then this place. Not worth the $60.00 dollars and change. ?
Horrible place. Old food: shrimp sagging, Crab legs small and old smell, noodles no flower, soup so spicy.....I should know this place is no good the moment I park my car. parking place was empty Tuesday dinner time.
The food at the restaurant was not very hot, which was disappointing. It was a shame that the prices for lunch had increased to over $10 and three buffet tables were empty due to COVID. I have been to other buffets that have raised their prices but still offered a full buffet. Many places have stopped serving crab legs because they are expensive, but there were other options available. Despite the empty buffet tables, the restaurant was clean and the service was friendly and efficient. It was just disappointing to see the dark, empty buffet tables and half of the lights were out in the dining area.
