The Barn Door - San Antonio

I was eager to take some out-of-town guests who had previously enjoyed the original location to this new venue, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed. While I must admit that the food was still quite good, the new building has a different vibe. It features chic painted cement floors, a high ceiling supported by heavy beams, and bright lighting. However, the atmosphere tends to feel a bit cafeteria-like in the expansive, echoing space, filled with the constant buzz of conversation and the sounds of the kitchen. Moreover, the waitstaff did not meet expectations; they seemed more focused on hurrying one table out to make room for the next, rather than providing a welcoming dining experience. For an authentic Barn Door experience, I would recommend sticking with the original location, as the new Barn Door simply does not measure up.
