Playa Chacmool Inc - St. Augustine

If you like tacos, this is definitely the place to go. We came for the good reviews and were not disappointed. The tacos were just delicious. When we had to go early the next day, we took an additional part to take away. Try the margaritas.

We decided to dine here for dinner last night (8/31) somewhat at the last minute and not too long before they closed at 8pm. We arrived at 7:15pm and were seated immediately. Two other tables came in after us, as late as 8pm and were all seated with a smile. They are understaffed and they are honest about that. It didn?t seem to impact service nor food quality, in my opinion. The two servers working the entire restaurant knew what they were doing and were efficient. The kitchen was also super fast. All 4 people in my party had our meals in under 20 minutes. I ordered a house margarita and it was a great, no frills beverage. For dinner, I ordered the 2x combination with a chicken tostada and beef chimichanga. It also came with rice and refried beans. We shared chips with guacamole, salsa and queso. All were among the best I?ve had, and we frequent Mexico. There was a solo guitarist playing Mexican music as well. Added well to the atmosphere. This isn?t a fake 5 star. I genuinely can?t think of anything I would recommend improving. Made me feel like I was back in Mexico!

The food is very fresh and delicate, very small and cute. So quickly I forgot to take photos! Tacos are amazing? the Mexican Sangria is really good and comfortable located opposite the beach!

The most wonderful little restaurant in town! The staff, the environment, and the meal (including the horchata) were all perfect. The food is fresh and authentic, and we really appreciated that they stick to authentic Mexican. Definitely the best in town!
