Hong Kong City Bbq - Tamarac

Recommended by a friend as the best place for authentic Chinese food in South Florida, we made the trek to Tamarac to try the dim sum. We didn't have high expectations, assuming it couldn't compare to the dim sum in San Francisco, but we were pleasantly surprised. The braided chicken wrapped in glutinous rice and banana leaves was quite tasty and definitely a highlight. The beet cake was also delicious. We also tried the pork belly and sesame-covered glutinous dough balls. The shrimp hak gow could have been a bit larger, though. The Chinese broccoli was fresh and flavorful as well. The service was friendly and prompt, with reasonable prices. Overall, it was a solid dining experience for South Florida. Next time, we’ll have to give the Peking Duck a try!

This amazing little spot offers an extensive traditional Dim Sum menu. The service was quick and friendly, even though I wasn't an Asian patron. All the dishes were hot and fresh, and I was particularly impressed by the noodles. None of the food was overly salty, but it was incredibly delicious. I only ordered from the Dim Sum menu, but they also have a regular menu available. The prices for the Dim Sum dishes range from $4 to $12, depending on the item.

The food is excellent and the service is great. The authentic cuisine is absolutely delightful. The fresh seafood, especially the live lobster with ginger and scallions, is incredibly tasty and fresh. My family adores this restaurant. I spoke with some Asian patrons who mentioned that their family and friends have been coming here for over 30 years. The Dim Sum is fantastic, and the grilled dishes are very flavorful. Overall, the food is consistently good.

My wife is originally from Hong Kong and this is by far the most authentic place to get Dim Sum and other traditional HK food. We drive 35 miles to get here ! which should be a good indication of how well it compares to other, closer restaurants. Don't be put off by the area a little run down , the food and service are excellent.
